This is a great read Tim. It does seem as though there is a recurring theme as well in apocalyptic movies. I just watched "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and there was the same idea reiterated - the problems for the earth are the humans. Except now there are the tools to do something about it. Next bubble - insect farms??
