I loved this - obviously - and am surprised by how well my little rant to you (which I think was in the form of a private email) has aged, although I am pretty sure it was penned in 2020, I canβ€˜t be sure. On another note, was I alone in noticing that King Charles, in his valedictory tribute to HM The Queen pointedly distanced himself from the causes to which he had devoted so much of his life and energy? I took this to mean that he will stop fiddling around at the edges of WEF ideology and desist from overt political posturing from now on. An outcome devoutly to be desired.

BTW DonI have your permission to repurpose your piece for Pitchfork Papers next week? Thank you and congrats!

My primary concerns (I have several others though) are the banning of cash and the restrictions in precious metals ownership. For that truly reflects the heavy hand of government coming down on the people who may try to "escape" whats going on.

I will add yet another likelihood. There is a building chorus from Authority, Social Liberal and Academic sources regarding the "lies" and dangerous "conspiracy theories" abounding on the web / internet media sphere. I expect as we head into various crises in 4Q and through 2023, that the possibility of censorship / increased Facebook / Twitter topic control, will steady climb.

I am watching the reporting on the UKR/RUS war closely and note the one sided reporting of UKR successes. If its correct, so be it, after all it was Russia that decided to press an invasion irrespective of any justifications it might have had. However, if the current UKR offensive turns out to be another Battle of the Bulge and the Russians undertake and succeed in a successive counterattack. Then I truly worry about the Western response to such a possibility. Direct conflict between Nato / Russia?

Irrespective of the previous paragraph, I am increasingly of the opinion we are approach a once in a multigenerational "2 steps back" situation in almost all things.
